The verdict
While Melbourne's laneway culture tends to favour the top end of town, Cherry and Twigs, one of the city's cutest cafes, is hidden away on a tiny lane joining Flinders Street and Flinders Lane at the Spencer Street end. A serene place to escape the daily grind, a pale wood-carved tree sprouts up one wall. The avo and honey granola brekkie pudding is a treat, as are the single origin coffees provided by the Maling Room.
