The Verdict

After 10 years on the road, Ciccio Pizza has set up shop in a shipping container on the grounds of Bruno’s Distributors on Sussex St in Pascoe Vale, just a block down from Coburg North Coles.

Owner and chef Andrea Caroli is the real deal: born and raised in Rome (where he spent five years learning the art of dough making and wood firing), he moved to Melbourne ten years ago and quickly fell in love with the vibes, diversity and nightlife on Melbourne’s northside.

Ciccio Pizza focuses on the pizza-making styles of Naples and Rome—light, crispy dough and quality flavour combinations. The restaurant-slash-shipping-container offers over 14 different pizzas, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options. But whether you want to dine in or take away, you shouldn’t leave without trying the house speciality, the ‘Pancetta.’ It’s topped with Mozzarella, potato, pancetta, truffle, and drizzled with garlic oil. Sounds like a winner.

Ciccio Pizza is open Wed-Sun 5 pm - 9:30 pm. They also do lunch on Thursdays, from 12 – 2:30 pm.
