The Verdict
Australians love a cold beer during the warmer months, and residents of Melbourne are definitely no stranger to a big, cold beer. But how does one served at -2.2 degrees sound?
That’s what new South Wharf bar, CITIZEN is dishing up this summer.
Teaming up with Asahi, CITIZEN will be the only spot in Australia where you’ll be able to get your hands on Asahi Super Dry served as cold as it is intended to be. It’ll definitely keep your body temperature cooler on a hot, sunny Melbourne day.
CITIZEN’s is a Japanese-inspired bar that focuses on ‘good beer, good food, and good times’. The bar menu features more than 20 gins, more than 25 whisky options, and a range of cocktails that are sure to cater to every taste.
On the food front, you’ll find a range of snacks including a crumbed mushroom burger with a matcha bun, barra wings coated in semolina, then fried, and served with a seaweed mayo sauce, and for those with a sweet tooth you can tear into the matcha ice cream sandwich, which uses two sponge cookies as the bun, and is served with chocolate sauce.
