The Verdict
If a $2000 flight to Colombia isn’t in your budget, how about a $4.40 tram fare to Queen Street? Club Colombia is as close as you can get to an authentic Colombian experience without travelling to the other side of the world.
The extensive menu covers traditional food from each area of Colombia. There’s a huge range of breakfast options and authentic Colombian coffee. For lunch and dinner, the entire menu is hearty, full of flavour and delicious. You can’t really go wrong with any options, but if we had to choose, we’d go for the patacón con hogao (fried green plantain with pulled beef), sobrebarriga chorreada (flank steak with hogado sauce, cheese and cream), and the Colombian hot chocolate and cheese.
But Club Colombia is more than just about the food—they've really captured the culture of Colombia in their vibrant city venue. The music, colourful interior, ambience, and friendly Colombian staff all add to the experience. Don’t worry about butchering your pronunciations: the staff are more than happy to help you practice your Spanish, show genuine interest in hearing about your experiences in their country, and enthusiastically share their own stories of growing up in Colombia. It's a definite yes from us.

We don’t want to be dramatic but if we could only live off one food group for the rest of our lives, it would be carbs from Little Sister Bakery.

The city's smallest bakery (well, distributor of baked goods at least) Agathé Pâtisserie Petite has grown into a bigger space, but still in Royal Arcade.
