Wearing glasses can be both a blessing and a curse. But that’s not the way the founders, or shall we say the visionaries, at Dresden Optics see it.
Rewind back to the year 2000 where it all began. At a DJ gig in Germany. Plot twist – in an optometrist. That's where Dresden founders Bruce Jeffreys and Jason McDermott changed the way they saw glasses forever.
Any old specs-wearer can confirm it’s ridiculously easy to lose, break, destroy and disrespect your glasses. And usually it’s going to cost you in more ways than one. The idea with Dresden frames is that you can afford to have multiple pairs of glasses and not run your bank account completely dry in the process. Jeffreys and McDermott also took their admiration for traditional German eyewear and incorporated it into their own framing system here in Aus.
Unlike a regular pair of frames, every part of Dresden glasses, from the pins to the arms, is customisable. You can choose from four different frame sizes, bi or multi-focal, reading or sunnies, plus four different arm lengths, all cut in-store. They’re practically made for your face. You can even pick colours and materials to customise your look (think Lego Yellow or Olive Green). Innovative, fresh and affordable, these glasses are simply wunderbar.
