The verdict

Housed in the heart of bustling Glen Waverley, Elephant Corridor serves up some of the best North Indian and Sri Lankan food in Melbourne. Packed with locals most nights of the week, this authentic restaurant is famous for their tantalising curries, ranging from mild to lip-numbingly spicy, biryanis and tasty treats from the tandoor. Every Sunday night, diners flock to Elephant Corridor for their hoppers offering, delicious bowl-shaped pancakes, either plain or filled with egg, traditionally served from hawker stalls on the streets of Sri Lanka. It's about as authentic as it gets.

You won't be disappointed with the offering from the fisherman's net either; Elephant Corridor's signature mud crab curry, prepared in the traditional Sri Lankan way and piled high on the plate, continues to wow guests every Thursday night. Leaf eaters, don't fret– there's a great selection of delicious vegetarian curries, with everything from palak paneer to aloo gobhi gracing the menu.
