The verdict
The Final Step is a cafe with a conscience, owned by small-town New Zealander, Ben Whitaker. The establishment is small and the atmosphere is communal and community minded. Ben delivers the finest coffee and small edible accompaniments (his pastry chef sister makes the sweet treats), with profits from the cafe funding the 'Food for Thought' program which helps to feed underprivileged children in Argentina. As Ben puts it, The Final Step is also the first step towards sustainable social change.
