The Verdict

Over the past decade, Richmond’s Swan Street has become its own culinary mecca with a full spectrum of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, and now, the transformed stretch welcomes a healthy new addition that’s primed for the summer ahead, Fishbowl.

Their thing is salads, but with a loosely Japanese twist. Leading the menu is an ‘OG’ bowl, which you’ll find across all 23 locales around Australia. It’s stacked with the good stuff like salmon sashimi, shallots, kale, beets, red onion & edamame with roasted sesame dressing, seaweed, tobiko and crispy shallots—a versatile number that’s suited to lunch just as it is dinner.

There are several other nourishing options that are all worth a look over, too. Wild-caught tuna and Rangers Valley beef make up some of the other protein options for the omnivores, while those after something plant-based can look toward the miso roasted eggplant or hand-pressed tofu. Those who’re after a more specific combination are free to pick and choose ingredients to their liking.

The summer-ready salad bar comes as Melbourne begins to come alive after lockdown and for the summer ahead, and as a way to say g’day to the locals, they’re offering half-price bowls from Monday 9 November to Friday 13 November. Get yours at the top end of Swan Street between 11am and 9pm.
