Fonda | Richmond
The verdict
Fonda Richmond has a slightly more intimate feel than it's brother and sister Fonda's. Might be a side effect of Swan St's laid-back vibe. This place feels more 'Date Night' than 'Night On The Town'.
The location couldn't be better too—right near the corner of Swan and Church, a stone's throw away from some epic bars (if you feel the mood strike you, mid-taco). We recommend Fargo & Co or The Palm Royale if you're looking for a post-Mexican kick-on.
As for Fonda, the old girl still has a few tricks up her sleeve. In fact, the group just unveiled a new-look menu. The usual suspects are still there (including those dangerous pulled pork quesadillas), but the team have opted for a slightly higher-end feel with the new dishes. Try fresh little palate-cleansers like Kingfish ceviche (with chillies and avocado) or a Yellowfin tuna ceviche bowl, sitting on forbidden black rice and swimming in an insane coconut broth (we could drink this stuff straight from a bottle).
Swing by and check out the new Fonda. It might just surprise you.
