Ahhh Fonda Windsor. This was Fonda swinging for the fences: a split level, three storey terrace space, with a restaurant downstairs, back up in the middle, and a dusky rooftop Ático bar for when things get REALLY fun. A lot of people never bother to walk up the back stairs, but we promise it's worth the climb.
Here's how you do Fonda Windsor right. Sit yourself down on the rooftop and order up a few cheeky cocktails. Maybe a Hibiscus margarita with Chambord and ginger, or a Senora Smith (el jimador tequila spiked with fresh-pressed Granny Smith apples). Then it's straight on to the new-look Fonda menu.
Most of your old favourites survived the upgrade—including those moreish fish tacos guac and chipotle aoili—but this time Fonda has kicked things up a notch. Introducing (drumroll please) the Beer Braised Beef Short Rib Taco Board. Hooly dooly, where do we start with this thing? It's part of Fonda's new sharing platter range—twice-cooked beef short rib with chimichurri, chilli-lime cabbage salad, caramelised onion, guacamole, pickled carrot, chipotle aioli, Fonda salsa, coriander and fresh lime. That's one hell of a shared plate right there.
