Ganzo | Richmond
The Verdict
Ganzo, or ‘cool’ in Tuscan, is bringing exactly that to Bridge Road with a breezy diner serving up pizza, pasta along with classic Italian sides and a charming drinks list.
Replacing Mr Macellaio's Meat Shop, Ganzo is the new haunt by Chef Ian Curley (of French Saloon and Kirk’s) and Valerio Calabro (La Svolta) that brings a bright and welcoming aesthetic to the once-moody butcher and eatery.
The duo keeps things simple for the most part, slinging margheritas and cappricciosas from the top of the menu and into the oven. And given their pedigree in the industry, these options shouldn’t be overlooked.
If you’d rather explore the outer edges of Italian cuisine, the paccheri pasta with slow-cooked octopus, or boia de pizza with 24-month aged prosciutto, offer an alternative to the usual go-to’s when ordering a slice.
Regardless of your preference, the pizza, pasta and pretty much everything else is made in-house. Try the refreshing offering on Bridge Road from Tuesday through Saturday.
