The Verdict

George's Bar is essentially a well thought out (if slightly intense) homage to George Costanaza from Seinfeld. So naturally, you'll find stickers of George's face, framed quotes from George, and images and murals of George throughout the Fitzroy venue. There's even t-shirts for the die-hard fans. But now for the non-Seinfeld related stuff. A surprisingly non George Costanaza looking DJ spins rock and party tunes every Friday and Saturday nights so you can get down... Like George?

Drinks include a range of craft beer and traditional non-plenteous cocktails. You can even buy an individual snickers bar for $2, because you're not you when you're hungry. George's Bar also serves up a range of toasties that were pretty sure were given names when the owner was high. Sweet tooths can't go past The Dealership (Twix, pretzels and maple syrup) and if you're just after the basics grab the Mom and Pop (cheddar and ham) or the Art Vendelay (double cheese).
