The verdict

There are definitely no frills about this bottle-shop/ wine bar, and that's part of the charm! At Gibson's Wine Bar on Burwood Road, you can wander through the racks of wine, pluck out your bottle of choice, then bunker down for a catch up with friends amongst the mismatched tables and chairs, wooden panelling, and black and white movie posters. Gibson's is our content manager's own version of Cheers bar, and you'll often find her here quaffing red (there is also an ever-evolving 'by the glass' offering), hoovering cheese, and solving the problems of the world. Need something more substantial to eat? There's a large selection of local take-away menus by the bar and you can eat in. Some have even been known to make the 50m trip for delivery...
