Person picking up food at Ging Thai

Ging Thai is a celebration of Thai cuisine with a modern twist. The kitchen, headed by Chef On Saengyojanr, keeps the cultural traditions of Thailand alive with intoxicating aromatics, bright colours and incredible flavours.

Ging Thai is located beside the Crown riverwalk, with outdoor seating overlooking the Yarra River and cityscape. The atmosphere is made even more lively by the expansive bar and outdoor terrace layout. The interior is as striking as the kitchen’s creations, with a colourful tuk-tuk in the entryway and vibrant floral garlands draped from the ceiling.

Now onto the main event: the menu. Expect a spin on Thai classics as well as inventive dishes that blend with traditional Thai flavours. Kick things off with kingfish ceviche, and gai yang salad before digging into a half-roast duck, yellow vegetable curry, pad see ew and pork eggplant.

The dessert menu also deserves close attention with selections like caramelised roti and lychee pannacotta. Mix and match from every section of the menu to customise a feast that will have the whole table cheering. Want to leave it to the experts? Opt for the 'Feed Me' menu and the chef will send out a selection of their favourites for just $68 per person.

Ging Thai’s bar is also shaking things up with its handcrafted cocktails. There are Thai-inspired concoctions like the Spicy Tom which features lime-leaf vodka, lemongrass, bubbles and chilli; and the Sticky Rai which includes rum, mango, coconut and egg white. They’re also stocked up on staple Thai beers like Singha and Chang.

If you’re looking for something secluded to indulge in the food festivities, Ging Thai also has its own private dining space where you can work your way through its exciting menu with family and friends from the privacy of the floating mezzanine.
