The Verdict

Heads up, Chocoholics,  our Belgian buds just upgraded their status from friends to soulmates thanks to some menu updates. 

European chocolate kings Godiva opened their first ever Melbourne store in Emporium just in time for Christmas, but it feels like the celebration may have never ended. This isn’t just another retail space—it’s a ground-breaking concept store, a first for the international brand. Part boutique, part cafe, all chocolate—with some sweet new additions to the menu.

We're talking about the dangerously delicious waffles, walking onto the menu last night.  Two freshly baked waffles come topped with swirls of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, whipped cream, strawberries and some kind of funky chcolate praline tying it all together. Excuse us as we wipe the drool from our chins.

Combine this with their Gold Discovery Collection gift boxes (you would have seen these around on Insta), Truffes Legendaires, Super Premium G Bars, the single sachet cookie collection, Godiva Pearls, daily fresh choc-dipped strawberries, double choc ice-cream, Godiva Chocolixir and a hot chocolate that should be illegal in some states it’s so good, and you can see why we're never leaving.  

The idea is to bring together all the iconic Godiva experiences and products under one very indulgent roof, and boy have they done that. If you haven’t heard of Godiva, they’ve been around since 1926, when the first store opened in Brussels. They’re the official chocolatier to the royal court of Belgium, and you can get them in nearly 100 countries around the world. Finally, we can now add Melbourne to that list.

Follow your nose to Level 1 in Emporium. You’ll soon spot the cafe space.
