THE VERDICT

Hampton, may we present your new local? Just two minutes from Hampton station, Hampton Hotel is settling into the neighbourhood like it’s been there for years.

This is a pub built for every kind of visit. Whether you’re after a quick after-work drink, a long Sunday lunch with the fam, or a live music singalong on a Saturday night, this place has got you covered. The space itself has been designed to offer a range of atmospheres; the light-filled Atrium features a retractable glass roof, the cosy Lounge is the perfect place to kick back by the open fireplace, the Wine Room feels intimate, and the Mezzanine Rooftop overlooks the main bar to build a buzzy, welcoming feel.

You won’t be disappointed on the food front, with the kitchen focussing on consistent, crowd-pleasing pub classics. There are parmas, steaks, and pizzas, of course, alongside seasonal shared plates and a wallet-friendly $54 Feed Me menu that takes the choice off your hands.

The Hampton’s weekly specials are already becoming local rituals, too: Monday gets you a $25 porterhouse with chips, salad, and gravy; Tuesday is $20 parma night; snag a second main meal for half price on Wednesday’s locals night; and finish the week strong with a Sunday roast. Happy Hour runs every day from 3pm (rejoice), with an extra special on Sundays that’ll score you $14 margaritas.

The energy steps up on Friday and Saturday nights with a live DJ from 5pm, and the Piano Man turning back the clock for old-school singalongs from 8pm every Saturday. Cementing its place in the community, The Hampton Hotel also sponsors local sports clubs like the Hampton Rovers Football Club and the Black Rock Football Netball Club. Plus, every AFL game is played live across the venue’s multiple screens, making it the perfect place to gather across the weekend—for locals and wanderers alike.
