A couple of years ago, Happy Melon opened in Armadale, promising something new in the healthcare and wellness game. They've certainly delivered. This place is pretty nuts. It's more of a mind and body studio than a gym. You can take classes in clinical pilates and yoga (everything from fundamentals to Flow and Yin sessions), and there's a range of remedial massage and naturopathy services on offer, but Happy Melon isn't just about strengthening and conditioning your body. They understand that, especially these days, inner wellness is just as important.
It's one of the few holistic wellness centres to offer both clinical practices, including physio and rehab, as well as meditation. Students can walk through the basics of mindfulness in a guided meditation class, or try a restorative 'lying down' session (this sounds right up our alley). If you don't know which one's right for you, Happy Melon have helpfully packaged certain classes into an 6-week program designed to reduce stress and improve mindfulness. You can grab single class passes, or sign up for full weekly membership (there are dozens of packages available).
