Opened late last year by the celebrated tattoo artists T.J Day and Brian Graydon, the studio aims to be a comfortable and welcoming space that feels inviting for both clients and artists to come into.

Hidden on the 4th floor of the historic Nicholas Building on Swanston Street, Heart & Soul Tattoo studio is about as Melbourne as it gets. Funky artwork and plants flood the studio area, providing an oasis of calm that makes the needling process that bit nicer.

While most tattoo studios focus solely on, well, tattooing, Heart and Soul Tattoo studio goes beyond the technical side of things, putting their clients’ comfort first and foremost.

As Brian points out, "Tattoo shops can be intimidating places. We want people to come in and feel at ease.”

This sentiment will certainly be reassuring to future clients (especially first-timers) who might feel uneasy in a tattoo shop environment.

While Brian draws inspiration from eastern or religious influence, T.J favours traditional American style tattooing. However, with over three decades of combined experience in the industry, both artists can turn their hand to many styles to suit your every need.
