The verdict

Following an extensive makeover, Hotel Brighton has re-opened its doors as the go-to pub on Bay Street. You may recognise the new owners, too – X Factor judge and singer Natalie Bassingthwaite, St Kilda captain Nick Reiwoldt, and Nathan Brown of the same group behind Flinders Street's Waterside Hotel. The homely downstairs is perfect for families looking for a classic pub feed, while the gorgeous new rooftop deck is set to be a hit with the younger crowd, featuring a built in BBQ and stunning views over Brighton's rooftops.
