The Verdict

The first of its kind in Spotswood, Hudsons Road Wine & Beer store is your one-stop shop to wine, dine (there’s cheese), and bask in the glory of over 200 assorted bottles of vino, and another 200 different craft beers. AKA your new happy place. 

Business partners Leigh Boin and Alistair Smith are the team behind Spotswood’s first wine bar, and they’re proud locals too. Self-confessed “avid craft beer and fine wine enthusiasts”, the duo wanted to bring a lil’ bit of brewery magic to their home turf.

With outdoor seating on the way, Hudsons is a comfy twenty seater for customers to cheese and wine, or go all out with a charcuterie. There’s even an in-house deli to froth over and pssst, they now stock fresh pasta and pesto from the Alligator team.

We can also tell you all about Hudsons’ lavishly designed furniture, made locally by fellow Spotwooders, Quazi Design. But right now, all we want to talk about is the wine and beer wall. Think shelf after shelf packed with wines from Marion’s Vineyard, Wines by Farr, and the gorgeous selection of Amisfield wines from their vineyards in Otago, New Zealand. 

And for a peek at the impressive canned line-up, expect Sailors Grave, Deep Creep 3, 3 Ravens, La Sirène Brewing, and Hop Nation’s Jedi Juice, because the force works in mysterious ways, duh. Selections of wine come by the glass, and on Friday arvos there’s a rotating two tap draught beer system for double the trouble.

Doors open every damn day of the week.
