Hold on to your hats and loosen your belt buckles, coz Huxtaburger is coming to Footscray. Yep, you read that right. Your favourite northside burger joint is opening yet another store, and to celebrate they have some seriously good deals going on.
Keeping the burgers simple and lip-smackingly good is the moto behind Huxtaburger. The menu has always revolved more around quality than quantity. If you're hungry, you can't go past the Theo: double grass-fed beef patty, double cheese, bacon, bbq sauce, mustard, mayo, tomato, lettuce and pickles. Of course, if the thought of that behemoth makes your jeans explode, you should probably go the Denise: a spicy stack, built from grass-fed beef patty, jalapenos, Sriracha mayo, cheese, mustard, ketchup lettuce and pickles. The sides are always solid too. Think salty straight-cut cut fries (no more crinkle, sorry guys) panko onion rings and crispy southern fried chicken tenders.
In a change for the brand, this new Footscray venture is the first of what they're calling 'hyperlocal' Huxtaburgers. It's inspired by the skate scene of the West, and a feature mural from local artist, Shaniah Fernandes. The fit-out was designed by the legends at Studio Y, and features an upside-down skate bowl on the ceiling, skate rails for lights and a half pipe for the main burger-scoffing area.
To mark their momentous move to the uber funky postcode of 3011, these dudes are giving away 3,011 of their most popular burg, the Huxtaburger, for just $1 on Opening Day. First come, first served. This just keeps getting better and better.
Pop this one in the diary. The new store opens 2 December.
