What Ichi Ichi Ku lacks in size, it makes up for in bold, fresh flavours, a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, home delivery (including alcohol!) and a cracking drinks list. With an authentic vibe that’s all about top-quality food, this park-side Japanese Izakaya is quickly becoming one of our faves.
The Ichi Ichi Ku space is decorated with unique colourful lanterns, Japanese art and sets the mood with relaxing lighting. You can watch the magic happen through the open bar and kitchen while you sit back, relax and pretend you’re in a little Izakaya in a back alley of Kyoto.
Lucky for you food fans, the menu seriously has something for everyone. The take away bento boxes are perfect for a summer's day in the neighbouring Botanical Gardens, and their Japanese breakfasts, complete with freshly roasted coffee, make for a healthy, nutritious start to the day. As for sushi, our top pick is the Ichi Ni roll—lobster, avocado and cucumber—and the array of traditional desserts are surprisingly tasty! We didn’t know Japanese desserts were a thing, but they just get better and better with every spoonful, especially the matcha tiramisu.
Ichi Ichi Ku doesn't take bookings, so we suggest getting there early, or if you're in a hurry, you can always pick up something to go. Whether you’re grabbing a bento box, settling in for a four course feast, or ordering a home-delivered banquet, complete with sake to match, you won’t be disappointed!
Ichi Ichi Ku is now offering home delivery, including alcohol. To check out what’s on offer, click here.
