This serene cafe, full of lush Australiana themed decor is the newest addition to Prahran’s buzzing cafe scene. Escape the crazy hustle and bustle of Chapel St and retreat into Kookaburra Kanteen, a hotspot for good quality coffee and a menu that covers all bases. 

If you love The Family Love Tree, you’ll enjoy their newest project. Kookaburra Kanteen is an offshoot of the bohemian interiors shop that has the same simplistic but beautiful botanical flair. The interior of the cafe is full of light, dusty pinks, fresh greenery and earthy art which compliments the simplistic but wide menu.

Kookaburra’s Kanteen’s menu is equally as soothing, full of a variety of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. From clean dishes like the Super Salad with quinoa, chickpeas, almonds and sweet potato, currants and more to toasties oozing parmesan bechamel and black truffle, there is something for every brunch-goer. Our fave is the Poke Bowl with tamari & sesame salmon, avocado, kimchi, wasabi peas and kewpie mayo.

Their drinks menu doesn’t leave anything out either. Aside from coffee (and every milk substitute thinkable) there are teas, hunger-busting smoothies, freshly-squeezed juices and a range of kombuchas.
