The Verdict

Carlisle Street took a hit to its hospo offerings when Uncle shut their St Kilda East eatery. Fortunately, the southside hood didn’t have to wait long until the location was snapped up and transformed into a breezy rooftop bar and diner that’s primed for summer.

At Land of Plenty, you’ll find an all-Aussie drinks menu covering off the essentials and then some. Your go-to’s like Colonial Brewing, Balter and everyone’s favourite summer ale Kaiju Krush all score a feature, but you’re free to experiment with the likes of a Quiet Deeds Lamington Port if you so choose to, too.

The local wine menu spans our land far and wide, beginning at Mr Fox’s Shiraz from central Victoria, stopping off at several producers from South Australia and then winding down to Tassie for a glass of Moores Hill Reisling.

The menu can be loosely described as a refined Australian BBQ. Begin with a shrimp on the barbie (wrapped in prosciutto) or share a smokers board (with camembert, wrapped in prosciutto), then make your way through half shell Moreton Bay bugs and the Collinson & Co. 90 Day Dry Aged Rib Eye 500g to share.
