Left Field
The Verdict
From the team behind some much loved favourites (Tall Timber, Rustica Canteen and Short Straw to name a few) comes the next great cafe to the bayside suburb of Carnegie. With the kitchen under the helm of Chef Ryan Lording (former head chef of Tall Timber) you're in for a treat at Left Field.
You'll be able to chow down on deliciousness such as Middle Eastern spiced salmon gravlax, poached eggs, beetroot relish, dill goats cheese, smashed peas, zuchini ribbons, sumac avocado, radish, lime and rye or the Beetroot Cured Ocean Trout with a Poached Egg. If Bircher takes your fancy try their coconut, date and cinnamon bircher with saffron poached pear, cacao, figs, orange blossoms and rose petals. Of course you can't go past their sweet and sour BBQ pulled pork brioche with honey, japaneo and lime slaw, gherkins, cheddar cheese, corriander and chilli mayo. The crown jewel for those with a sweet tooth- their Oreo Cookies and Cream doughnuts.
It may have only opened in late April 2016, but lines most days involve at least an hours wait! Northsiders (and non Carnegie residents in general), you might have to venture a bit out of left field (get it?) to try the deliciousness that is Left Field!
