The Verdict

Channelling the ultimate in Viet street vibes, Mama’s Buoi is hidden away from prying eyes at the back of the GPO building, so you really have to look out for it. After opening two Sydney stores, Melbourne now gets to feast on these Vietnamese goodies.

Everything on the menu is designed for sharing, so bring a few friends and get ready to choose from a selection of small and large share plates—think braised lamb rack and pulled duck pancakes. There’s also a bunch of phos to choose from if you’re feeling like a hearty, warming dish.

For when you’re feeling super peckish, Mama’s Buoi knows how to quash those South-East Asian cravings, just order the ‘feed me banquet’ and you’re set!

Not only does the team know a thing or two about food, but they’ve also got all your cocktail needs covered. Whether it’s a lychee and watermelon martini, or the pho cocktail special you’re after, you’ll find ALL the fruity, boozy bevvies and mocktail specials to choose from. And for when you need to grab your Vietnamese feed on-the-go, Mama’s Buoi serve phos, salads and rolls all through your lunch hour. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick feed, or to stop by after work with your mates for dranks. Yep, sounds pretty epic to us.
