The Verdict
Clean and simple, just like their bagels. Fitzroy’s Mile End Bagel’s light interior ticks the basics: high-quality, pale timber, dilapidated white-washed walls and an extensive pile of flour stacked neatly in one corner, undoubtedly for tomorrow morning’s bake.
The menu is almost alarmingly simple among Melbourne’s cronuts-slash-milkshakes-slash-bacon crazies. But Mile End Bagels’ chewy, dense and mildly flavoured signature is easy to give a hole-lotta love. The options are sesame, poppy, everything or the sweet cinnamon and raisin. Pair it with a range of schmears or coffee for a breakfast that's been your best idea since sliced bread.
