The Verdict

Milk & Sugar started out way back in 2008 as a range of handmade bamboo salad bowls, as all good things do. Nearly 10 years later it’s grown into one of Melbourne’s best home-town success stories, a lifestyle brand that launches two carefully curated collections each year. And when they drop, Prahran locals are there waiting, credit cards handy.

The style is minimal and classic. Clean lines, pastel colour, throws and pillows with rough woollen textures, artful planters that’ll transform the average drab two-bedder into Instagram #houseporn. The design aesthetic is the work of owners Peter Sinclair and Cameron Taylor, and it’s remained pretty consistent over the company’s first 10 years. With the latest Autumn range, Milk & Sugar have gone back to basics, using a warm colour palette and natural fibres to create something that feels cosy, but still modern. Keep an eye out for the matt black Axel pots and stonewashed bedding (our personal favs).
