THE VERDICT
True to its name, Milkbar is serving up your favourite café classics but reimagined: think old-school Aussie milk bar with a touch of Melbourne flair. The option to add a side of yellowfin tuna tartar to your morning eggs on toast, if you will.
The space itself is a standout. The wooden coffered ceiling, maroon-toned walls, and grand, curved windows lining the perimeter create a warm and inviting space—the perfect sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the office.
While the atmosphere and coffee alone are reason enough to venture in, the food is definitely worth staying for. We recommend branching out from the classics (we all know avo toast is awesome, but c’mon) and trying their steak frites sandwich or barramundi niçoise salad.
Similar to your local milk bar, you’ll find all the essential pantry staples here, but make it bougie of course. Instead of softies, grab a freshly squeezed juice, some Victorian-made pasta, or a jar of almond and pistachio butter. And if you need a sweet treat of course they’ve got the entire Tony's Chocolonely selection.
This little slice of Melbourne cafe culture in Docklands was brought to us by seasoned hospo experts Matt Vero and Matt Ward who you’ll recognise from Teo's Pizza & Bar & the Healesville Hotel.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, looking for a solo work spot, or want to treat your coworkers to a delicious feed, Milkbar is your new go-to.
