The Verdict

Melbourne’s love for good soft serve is strong—if the response to Milkcow is anything to go by. After a hugely successful pop-up in 2016, the international soft serve sensation has opened a permanent ice-creamery on Bourke Street.

This modern, neon-lit ice-cream parlour serves organic soft serves topped with decadent ingredients including macarons, fairy floss clouds and espresso shots. Pre-designed combinations include the Mont Blanc with oreo crumbs, chocolate rocks and Italian apple syrup surrounded by a (quite literal) cloud of fairy floss.

The Willy Wonka of soft serve, Milkcow’s interior overflows with colour. From neon ice-cream cones stacked dangerously high to terrariums of suspended soft serve, the space is vibrant, playful and best of all—100% judgement free.
