Stationery nerds, your time has come. Australia’s biggest online stationery retailer, NoteMaker (now known as Milligram), has opened their first bricks and mortar store in Melbourne Central.

Milligram started a few years ago as an e-commerce site, slinging gorgeous stationery from brands like Moleskine, LAMY, Rifle Paper Co., Delfonics and Rhodia, but this is the first time the team has committed to a proper retail space. The Melbourne Central store was designed by the award-winning team at Studio Y—a sleek little paper-temple, built from blonde timber and brushed stone. Lots of soothing gentle, curves.

If you geek out on this stuff, Milligram is gonna be your new favourite city hangout. There’s greeting cards from Egg Press, Hello Lucky, Katie Leamon and fun new American brand TAY HAM. Classy notebooks from the School of Life, MiGoals and Field Notes. Diaries, pens, pencils, satchels and other bags, plus an encyclopedic range of paper goods. Think luxury letter writing paper from Tomoe River and luxe AF Palomino stationery sets.

"Customers have been asking for a physical store for years,” says Retail head Kimberly Palmer, “so we're excited to bring them a tactile and interactive experience they've been seeking.”

Once they’ve got settled in the new space, Milligram are even planning to launch a series of in-store events and creative classes, so keep your eyes peeled.
