The Verdict
Celebrity Chef Eyal Shani has brought “pita to the land without pita” at his new Australian restaurant, Miznon. The latest addition to Hardware Lane, Miznon is the ninth branch of the award-winning restaurant originating in Tel Aviv, so you know it’s gonna taste damn good.
Shani is well-known for his quirky appearances on Israel’s Masterchef, but it’s his real pita-love that's earning him the most attention around the world, in Paris, Vienna and (soon) Manhattan.
At Miznon, pita is life, and for its specially tailored Melbourne store you can expect pitas stuffed with chicken salad, falafel burgers, and roasted cauliflower drizzled in fresh tahini (one of Shani's signature dishes). Vegetarians can rejoice too, because many of Miznon’s dishes are vegetable-based.
If you're quick, you can grab a seat at the open kitchen and watch your vegetarian ratatouille pita come together with the freshest produce. Otherwise it might be a standing situation (like their all-standing Parisian shop) or an easy takeaway.
Doors open every day from 11am to 11pm. CBD workers, this needs to be your new go-to lunch.
