THE VERDICT

Get that party shirt out and your drinking thongs on, Moon Dog’s fifth monster concept venue in Frankston serving up tropical cocktails and craft brews for days.

The venue looks more like a Thai hut bar than something you would find on Port Phillip Bay, but hey, we’re here for the holiday vibes too.

Spend the arvo soaking up the sun on a daybed out on the huge balcony beer garden; treat yourself to buckets of prawns and beers while perched in a cabana hut.

Enjoy mojitos and mai tais; and spend the night dancing into the wee hours to a rotating line-up of DJs playing from the main stage.

Measuring 2000m2 the venue is a real monster, with plenty of cabana huts and hidden spaces tucked behind dense foliage, great for a bit of peace and quiet.

The four massive bars throughout the venue serve up delicious Moon Dog beers, seltzers and all of your ready-to-drink favourites, alongside wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings. Those looking for something a little fancier can pick up a vacay-inspired cocktail (served with a tiny umbrella, of course) or a Full Moon cocktail bucket, boozy slushie, or an assortment of tropical shots.

Menu-wise expect brewery classics ranging from fish and chips to parmas and burgers, as well as their Big Kahuna Burger (IYKYK).

Moon Dog Beach Club will open from 2pm Friday 20 December at 490 Nepean Highway, Frankston. Book your table here.
