The Verdict
Tucked away down Fulton Lane, Morpha has taken up residency in the CBD to breathe new life into Melbourne’s breakfast scene; dishing up a menu stacked with Asian Fusion brunch options.
You’ll be dining in style at Morpha Café as it's a final contender for the IFA Design Distinction Awards, which will become apparent on entering with a sleek monochromatic dining area, polished concrete walls, marble tabletops, hanging Edison bulbs and floor to ceiling windows. With its immaculate design, you’ll have the best seat in the house regardless of where you're positioned.
With menu highlights like sweet waffles, steak and eggs, pork belly bao and doughnut crullers, you’re able to order an impressive spread. Morpha has also put a spin on the classic eggs benny with their Okonomiyaki benedict; crispy white cabbage and corn pancakes served with poached eggs and sauced up with dashi hollandaise and tonkatsu sauce.
But it’s the lobster scramble sandwich that will keep you coming back. This definitely isn't your average sanga; stuffed full of poached lobster, crab salad, cheesy scrambled eggs, pickled cucumber, and sweet tomato relish all squeezed between two thick-cut slices of brioche bread.
Morpha’s menu may have mastered the savoury but their selection of sweet baked goods proves they’ve covered all bases; you can take your pick from an array of sugary doughnuts, flavoured croissants and crumbly cookies. Treat yourself to a cinnamon cruller and compliment your pastry with a coffee from the bar. You can opt for your go-to order, or if you’re feeling experimental give Morpha’s iced matcha or Hojicha (green tea) a shot.
