The verdict

Smack bang in heart of the CBD (at the foot of the 530 Collins Street Building) is Mr Mason, a modern French-inspired bistro and bar.

Mr Mason’s menu is produce-driven cuisine at its best. The food changes regularly with the seasons—casual rustic bites that you can nibble in the lounge or on the outdoor terrace. The restaurant boasts a boutique wine list, drops from Australia and abroad. You can grab most of them by the glass, or order up a variety of craft beers and boutique spirits.

The restaurant's closed over the weekend, but it is available for private functions on Saturdays and Sundays.
