The Verdict
Given the calibre of offerings at Melbourne Central’s new foodie precinct, ELLA, we can only assume there’s a fairly comprehensive vetting process in being able to open up shop. One such newcomer to this culinary hub, NUTTEA, has clearly passed with flying colours, slinging their unique range of 100% vegan, nut-based bubble teas.
The Nuttea team has been at it for several years over in Asia, and have long-since perfected the nut-based mylk recipe and subsequent plant-based cream. The result is an aromatic flavour that’s smooth in textures.
There’s a sizable grip of flavours available, with many on a seasonal rotation alongside several limited blends. For Australia’s first NUTTEA store, one can expect the likes of matcha with nut cream, brown sugar jelly nut mylk tea, banana oatmeal nut mylk and a nutty Americano.
The mylk tea has an undoubtedly addictive taste to it, but there’s a littel more to NUTTEA’s ethos than just serving up a decent beverage. NUTTEA hopes to encourage people to make the switch from animal milk to plant-based alternatives, and in turn, make a contribution to the environment while reducing the need to farm animals and their milk.
From now Wednesday 30 September to Wednesday 7 October, NUTTEA is offering 50% off on their signature teas. You can collect your tea from their new digs in ELLA, or get the goods delivered to your door via Uber Eats.
