The Verdict

There’s something sweet happening out in the Dandenong Ranges, and its name is Only Mine.

This is a brand new chocolaterie-slash-café-slash-chocolate-workshop that’s all about weird, off-beat sugary combos.

"We're trying to bring flavour combinations together that people may have never tried before. We're also making the staples better," says owner Jason Stockton, who started the biz with his partner, Anya Tran. 

A prime example of Only Mine's out-of-the-box trickery—vegans, this one's for you, so take a seat and brace yourselves—a veganized caramel koala. We’re serious. This choccy has already secured its own fanbase, made with a coconut caramel that’s out of this world.

“We want to make vegan products that don’t taste like they're vegan. We’re not trying to make healthy chocolate, we’re trying to make delicious chocolate," says Jason.

If you can’t live without your daily dose of dairy, don’t worry—the vegan range is only a small chunk of Only Mine's goodies. They're also doing a wicked hot chocolate, currently fighting for the title of the Best Hot Choc In Melbourne.

Their secret?

“We worked really hard to make a product that tasted like you were drinking actual chocolate. We use a blend of real dark and milk chocolate, then blend with milk and cream. We brew the mixture for up to 24 hours before it’s served to the customer. The results are amazing,” Jason says.

As well as the desserts (sticky date pudding, yes please) and sit-down drinks, Only Mine also offers an online store for any of their hand-painted boxed chocolates, in boxes of 5–60 choccies. You can guess the one we’ll be choosing.
