The Verdict

Jon-won Paik, A Korean rockstar chef is bringing the heat to Melbourne with his famed noodles.
Revered for his noodle dishes and after opening over 2000 venues worldwide and boasting over 5.3 million YouTube subscribers on his channel the world-famous chef has developed quite the reputation.

The newly opened Paik’s Noodle on Little Lonsdale Street will be serving his signature dishes up daily and will soon be operating well into the night, with a license allowing them to open until 4am—so consider all your late-night noodle cravings for sorted.

With a selection of some of his most renowned recipes, the Paik’s Noodle menu perfectly balances the rich salty and fermented flavours of Korean cuisine as well as traditional Chinese-style stir fry. Delve deep into umami territory with his signature Tang-Suyuk, deep-fried pork and vegetables; which is of course paired with the famed sweet and sour sauce.

If you’re feeling hot-headed, try the Gochu Jjamppong, a fiery chilli broth slowly simmered with vegetables, mussels and chewy noodles. On the drinks front, you can cool the spice with Korean rice wine, Suju Makgeolli, Cass beer or a  Bongbong fizzy soda.
