The Verdict

Situated right in the thick of South Melbourne, Park Street Pasta & Wine is a favourite among locals for its intimate and ambient dining atmosphere. Paired with its Italian-based cuisine it's the ultimate spot for slowing things down with a glass of red and soul-restoring pasta.

The corner building on Park Street retains all of its historic charm and is a welcome and inviting space. Their recent addition of streetside dining has only added to the general vibe of the quaint Osteria. The white cream umbrellas adorned with tea lights and heaters keeping you toasty year-round.

With a menu that explores and celebrates the diverse regions of the boot-shaped country, head chef Angus Cadden puts a large focus of the menu on handmade pasta, upholding the traditional characteristics of Italian fare whilst putting his own modern touches to create unique dishes.

You can expect to see dishes like crispy brussels sprouts covered in pancetta, parmesan cream and pecorino-romano—Maltagliati with king prawns, anchovy butter and ‘Nduja (pork-cheek salami) Pangrattato, and finishing off with the classic Italian style doughnuts, Bombolini with mascarpone, lemon curd, and topped with passion fruit.

An all-round classic, whether it be for a quick wine, or an Italia-heavy culinary outing.
