Melbourne's home of quality, fresh on-the-go pasta and cult-favourite tiramisu cups has officially landed in Richmond.

Following the major success of the first Remo's pasta bar in the CBD, the team has now opened its second restaurant on Swan Street, bringing with it all the signature Italian street food snacks, pasta bowls and unique tiramisu flavours it built such a following for. 

Owner Remo Nicolini, who is also the brain behind beloved Melbourne pizza and pasta joint A25, grew up in Italy, where he says places like Remo’s were everywhere.

"I believed Melbourne lacked such a venue," Nicolini says. 

"Remo's was conceived with one simple mission, to give the best quality artisan pasta for a very affordable price, made as quickly as possible," he explains. 

Pastas span red, pesto and white sauces, with the cheapest bowl—spaghetti aglio—sitting at just $14. For a primarily takeaway venue, the menu is incredibly inclusive, with vego options including rigatoni vodka and spaghetti pistachio pesto, meat heavy-hitters like rigatoni ragu and truffled carbonara (Nicolini's top pick), and the option to swap the pasta for a gluten-free, coeliac-safe gnocchi in most dishes. You can also opt to jazz up your bowl with additions like guanciale, fresh chilli oil or, our favourite, stracciatella. 

To start, it has to be the polpette (wagyu beef meatballs), bolognese arancino or garlic bread, and to finish, of course, the tiramisu. You'll struggle to find variations of the traditional dessert like these elsewhere, with classic, limencello, Nutella, pistachio and Biscoff to choose from—most of which are also gluten free. 

The Richmond location is similar in style to the OG CBD store—cosy and a little nostalgic, with wine lining the walls, tiramisu on display and specials handwritten on butchers paper hung by the counter, though it brings more seating options, with streetside tables and an extra dining room upstairs.
