The Details
The Verdict
The iconic Ormond Road and St Kilda Street corner site in Elwood has been taken over by Repeat Offender, a breezy, loosely Latin haunt bringing an entirely gluten-free menu to the bayside locale.
Taking charge in the kitchen is Mexican-born Head Chef Adrian Gonzalez, who’s leaning on his heritage to create a bold and bright menu. Highlights include a kangaroo tataki, umami fable lettuce boats and bara tacos.
“We aren’t your typical taqueria or street food style venue. Although tacos are definitely on the menu, we are pushing the boundaries by blending Latin American cuisine with food Australians love to create brilliant flavour combinations. Bringing that fusion and dining experience to Elwood is something unique about Repeat Offender” says head chef, Adrian Gonzalez.
To wash it down, there are several offerings on the drinks menu that’ll pair up perfectly with what’s plated up in front of you. Keep it simple with a versatile glass of Dos Equis on tap or get stuck right into the theme with an agave cocktail.
There are also knocking out coffees from 8am in the morning for all those early risers. Nice one.
