The verdict

The Royston is a true-blue Melbourne pub. Located down in the Industrial estate of Richmond, this relatively hidden local has won the hearts of many across the city for its charmingly clandestine feel. Inside, you're greeted with a dimly lit centred bar with a whole raft of classics on tap including; Balter Hazy IPA, Stone & Wood's Pacific Ale.

Dinner wise, you can park up in the bar section or saunter into the dining room that's situated in the back. The long room has stained wood panelling, chairs hanging on the wall, and a real old-time charm with wrought iron chandelier-style lights.

The menu, as you'd expect features plenty of pub classics and the Royston's parma is one of the best in Melbourne. Alongside your staple pub dishes you've also got thoughtful creations like oven-baked gnocchi with roast pumpkin gorgonzola cream, hazelnuts and sage.

If you've never stepped through the doors of The Royston yet, hop to it.
