The Verdict

Loaded fries with mac ‘n’ cheese, all-you-can-eat wings and pecan pie—oh my! Hailing from LA-based Bludso’s BBQ (said to be the best BBQ outside of Texas), San Antone is dishing out some of the most drool-worthy cheat meals in Melbourne.

Authentic American slow ‘n low meats are the stars of the menu, with signature beef brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, pork ribs, chicken and two kinds of sausages on offer. To pre-line your stomach for the feast, there are nachos topped with cheese, pickled jalapeno, black beans and served with guac, sour cream and salsa. Cobb salads and Texas beef chilli will also go down a treat.

If you’re around on Monday, you can’t go past their all-you-can-eat smoked wings for a mere $25 (bye-bye, waistline). Fridays see their mouth-watering Soul Fries topped with mac and cheese, smoked pork rib meat and hot or mild BBQ sauce, go for $25 with a selected beer between 12pm and 5pm.

The space itself is quintessentially American—all neon red lights, chocolate leather chairs and timber. It’s a space where getting messy isn’t just encouraged, it’s necessary, especially when you’ve got food as good as this.
