Melbourne’s first Splash Room just splashed on the scene and it’s even fun to say: Smash Splash. Try saying that three times fast.

Anyway, as you can probably guess, the concept is pretty straightforward: you throw paint at a wall like you just don’t care. Why? Because you can, that’s why. 

Blast music and create your very own, frustration-releasing piece of art, swing sledgehammers at a TV or throw some glassware; whatever you pick, no one’s judging. “In a world consumed by staying connected this is a unique activity allowing you to disconnect, reset and untangle,” say the folks at Smash Splash. And who are we to argue with their wise words?

So grab a paint-filled balloon or throw something at a wall and watch as all your problems temporarily melt away. You might even discover a hidden talent—whether that’s for creation or destruction, it’s really up to you.

Smash Splash is located in Oakleigh and lets you unleash all your pent-up emotions Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; hours vary.
