The Verdict
Abbotsford has developed majorly in the last decade with bars, restaurants and cafes popping up all over the place. Joining the ranks in the area, tucked away above Bodriggy Brewing Co., is the new bar Stingrays Upstairs. Sprucing a 70s Australian disco vibe, Stingrays is the new party destination in the area taking its name from resident brewer Stingray.
Naturally, the Bodriggy beers will be flowing, as well as local wines and creative signature cocktails referencing the Zooper Dooper to get you boogying. To go with your beverage of choice, they’ve got a small but solid selection of food to choose from, including smoked brisket sandwiches, fried corn masa fingers with feta and pulled pork tacos.
If you’ve been to Bodriggy before downstairs, forget everything you know because Stingrays is a different game. The venue has a bougie bogan feel—they’re going for an outback saloon meets city bar vibe and double denim is definitely on the cards. Pick your pedestal, whether it be a bar stool or the teal velvet couch and settle in for a cracking night.
