The Verdict

If you want to go to Cali without the airfare, then this one's for you.

Sunset Cali has the Californian theme down, plus the kitchen cocktails and a menu that’s designed to satisfy but not blow your calorie count. The restaurant has been launched by five partners who all own and work for a successful range of gyms called Ultimate U, so these guys know what they’re talking about when it comes to healthy eating.

Working closely with nutritionists, the Sunset Cali food concept was conceived and uses whole foods, natural spices and Victorian produce. Sunset Cali is serving fantastic Latin-inspired brunch, lunch and dinner menu that is surprisingly 95% gluten-free and packed with flavour.

In the LA Bar upstairs, the venue’s floor-to-ceiling glass windows give you a great view regardless of the weather. For drinks, we’re talking Moscow Mules in hollowed out pineapples or fishbowls with strawberry liquor, Beefeater Pink, lime juice, and muddled strawberry served in a whole watermelon.

And hold on to your cocktail hats, because on Sundays, Sunset Cali lets you build your own Bloody Mary and you can garnish it with whatever you want. Bacon? Chicken wings? Beef jerky? We’ll let you decide.
