Melbourne is no stranger to fashionable punters—after all, the city is dubbed the fashion capital for a reason. Previously located on the bustling Smith Street in Collingwood for a good part of a decade, SWOP underwent an ambitious upgrade recently that can now be found on Peel Street. The new flagship store replaces what was once CLUB80, an iconic queer venue, and has transformed the space into an elevated warehouse of vintage and pre-loved threads. It’s what they were doing on Smith Street, but bigger and better. 

Peruse the curated selection of second-hand pieces, tailored especially to match the changing seasons, hung on the racks. You can expect an intensive assortment of clothes, ranging from pieces fresh off the runway to statement vintage designer and hard-to-find items. Shoes and accessories are also up for grabs—an hour browse might give you a head-to-toe outfit ready to wear.

SWOP’s ethos is all about sustainable fashion. You can either show up empty-handed or with any pre-loved gear you’re ready to say goodbye to (check if your clothes are eligible over here). If you’re part of the latter, you can get  cash back or store credit to fund any pieces you discover in-store or online. It’s a win-win situation.
