Ding’s unexpected love affair with American BBQ began on a snowy trip to Mt. Buller and quickly transformed into a full-fledged passion.
Channeling the same precise approach it requires to design software into perfecting every cut of meat. Think briskets smoked for over 10 hours until they’re melt-in-your-mouth tender, and pork ribs that are juicy with just the right amount of char. Tao’s approach? “Less is more.” His menu spotlights premium meats with simple dry rubs, letting the natural flavors shine.
Each dish goes through rigorous trials, ensuring only the best hits your plate. Expect classics like angus brisket, beef short ribs, and uniquely flavoured pork ribs, served with all your favorite sides—smoked eggplant, smashed potatoes, and house-made cornbread that’s sweet with a twist of jam and cream.
The drinks menu keeps things local and refreshing, featuring Burnley Brewing beers, classic American brews, and a variety of wines, cocktails, and mocktails for non-beer drinkers.
Step inside and you'll find a space thoughtfully designed with a touch of DIY spirit. Tao's hands-on approach extends to the décor, with custom wooden tables and a striking steer mural adding to the venue’s rustic charm. The big front window floods the space with natural light, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for up to 40 guests.
