The Verdict

Cancel your plans to Italy. This place is the next best thing. The Tempo Pizzeria team have over 30 years’ pizza-making experience and even travelled to Italy to be officially certified at "Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana". We don’t know exactly what that means, but it sounds pretty damn Italian, so just go with it.

Tempo was created by Pietro Minniti (a member of the Australia Pizza Team) and his family, and it’s made a name for itself as some of the best wood-fired pizza you can find in the north.  The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the wine list is boss, and the pizzas come out crusty, thin and perfect.

There’s a range of antipasti on the menu (think chilli-dusted calamari, served with citrus aioli, or wood-fired scallops wrapped in prosciutto). Really though, if you don’t order the pizza, you’re doing it wrong. Keep it basic with a gooey Margherita, or test your Italian taste buds with Pistachio Pizza: a pistachio and pesto base topped with prosciutto, semi dried tomato's and rocket.

Wash it all down with a cheeky vino—the Venetian Pinot Grig is top notch—or tap into your sweet tooth and get a legit homemade Italian gelato (Pietro happens to also be a graduate of the Babbi Gelato Academy in Bologna, legit). There’s even a white chocolate pizza on the menu if the night takes a turn for the ridiculous. You’re gonna need stretchier pants...
