The Verdict
Offering up simple, delicious and authentic Thai food, this Brunswick East hot spot is an institution. Spanning over two floors, Thaila Thai is a buzz with good vibes and happy customers. By 7pm on Friday nights you'd be lucky to get a table and ravenous diners are quick to fill up the tables to indulge in some cheap deliciousness and enjoy the BYO policy.
The open kitchen gives diners a chance to witness the theatre and drama of their food being made. Service is fast, friendly and efficient with a traditional Thai menu including yellow, red and green curry with chicken, beef or pork and vegetables. The curry-curious have options like Gang Laung Pla Meuk, aka a yellow curry with squid and vegetables. Served steaming hot, order a side of roti with peanut sauce for a little Thai heaven.
